Shit! Has it really been that long? Man, time flies when you're unemployed and stressing about where your next meal is coming from, don't it? I haven't been around much for real world reasons (see above), but I occasionally like to check in, if only to clear out my messages. I stopped by today because of something I ran across on the web. A blog. I'm not a very "today" guy. Truth be told, my mind is still stuck somewhere in the 20th century (while my maturity stopped progressing sometime in the 70s). Social media and blogs just aren't really my thing. This may be because my average day bores even me to tears ... why subject what few friends

Okay, here it goes - we are looking for some new concept artists for a home-brew, not-for-money video game mod we are working on. This is a Non-Paying position, mind you ... we are a bunch of video game geeks who decided quite irrationally that we were going to try to create a video game mod without any experience at all. I'm serving as art director as well as concept artist, so I'm playing both sides of the field, as it were. And since we suddenly have more 3d modelers than we do concept artists ... What I'm interested in are artists who can draw in a relatively realistic style. It doesn't need to be photorealism, but it shouldn't be too st

It's official, friends and fans (okay ... friends): Rob is T minus 7 days to unemployment, and he's damn happy about it! It goes like this - I've been working for a certain printing company for the past 15 years. Not what I intended to do when I graduated from college, granted, but decent enough work over most of those years. Eight years ago (almost to the day, oddly enough), my job sort of went South, and in those troubled post-9-11 times, I made the decision to stick it out. 20/20 hindsight? Bad decision. Almost overnight, I went from a Corporate Trainer position, a job I absolutely LOVED, to the ass-end of nowhere, working for about half

DUDE!! How the heck are ya???!!! :-)
Sanford!!! I'm doing well, living in Savannah now. How's things with you?
Wait... You're alive? I thought you were rotting in some ditch somewhere, covered in the refuse of your long and glorious careering, finally broken by pain and suffering after being forced to wander the streets in this dystopian excuse for an economy.

How have you been?
Alive is maybe stretching it ...

Suffice to say that my time has been eaten alive, and I'm in survival mode. Sorry about not contacting you, but I was completely without internet for several months. I won't be available for the project, unfortunately, nor anything else for the near future.
Don't worry; the last few months have been hell for all of us.

The project died mid-spring, actually. It ends up that when I become so sleep deprived that my memory goes wonky, it's hard to keep a the team together. I still hear from the crew every now and then, but we're not really working on anything.

I did start a novel, though, just recently. I'm about three thousand words into it, and it's going pretty good.
At least you're keeping busy. I've been in the least artistic phase of my life here.
